Poland - Warsaw

The bronze Monument to the Heroes of Warsaw 1939-1945 is 21m tall. It is of a woman holding a one ton 6m long sword above her head which posed quite a challenge to the sculptor, Marian Konieczny. She named her entry to the 1956 competition to create the monument, The Warsaw Nike.
